Our Goal
Barriers to Web3 Adoption in the Gaming Industry
Why Web3 has not yet been widely adopted by traditional game companies?
We think it is because the cost and risk of adopting Web3 (regulations, legal constraints, policy issues, disruption of existing in-game economy balance, potential backlash from existing users, developing separate Web3 builds, securing specialized Web3 talent, navigating token economics, and the challenges of listing tokens etc) outweigh the perceived returns (revenue scale, attracting Web3 users, and the difficulty of achieving meaningful token listings).
Due to these concerns, even some companies that consider launching Web3 games decide not to apply Web3 directly to their successful existing titles, choosing instead to develop separate Web3- specific builds.
But, this structure does not directly target to onboard their existing gamers into the Web3 — which then makes many gaming platforms and mainnets to have difficulties on creating a “flywheel effect.” This reduced the incentive for traditional game companies to publish their games in Web3, creating a vicious cycle.
Our Goal
We believe that for Web3 to be adopted as a viable business model, these fundamental issues must be resolved, and this led to our idea of building the NEWCOIN.
Unlike existing Web3 platforms and mainnets, NEWCOIN mainly targets different group of game developers.
Instead of focusing on Web3-native studios, NEWCOIN targets traditional Web2 game companies that concentrate more on core game development.
We aim developers who resonate with the idea of using tokens not merely as monetary 'team-allocated' assets, but as tools to enhance the ‘fun’ of game.
